September newsletter

Dear ELTC members,

As you will all be aware, the Annual Club Finals Day tomorrow will be looking a bit different this year with no spectators due to the Covid-19 restrictions. We will however be streaming not only Match Court 1, but also Courts 2 and 3 as well, so you can watch all matches in your living room!

Court 1 will be shown on London Tennis Tube (YouTube):
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCevWjKJMiXz2RNWAfkdnpyA
Schedule:
12:00 open Men's singles, (not before) 13:30 open Ladies singles, (not before) 15:30 Open Mixed

Court 2 and 3 will be shown here on a separate YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/user/MYYOUNW/featured
Schedule:
Court 2: 12:00 restricted Men's singles, (not before) 14:00 Men's open doubles, (not before) 15:30 Ladies open doubles
Court 3: 14:00 restricted mixed doubles

Whilst non-finalist spectators won't be allowed, tarmac courts 1-3 are available to book. The dome may become available when we are 'sure' the weather won't turn. We ask that you only come for bookings made, have an enjoyable game and leave promptly after play.

With a last minute burst of summer sun, we are planning to keep all grass courts open next week (wc 21st) and reduce to G5-6 for the week after (wc 28th).

The bar is currently open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. We will be opening on weekend afternoons from this Sunday.

The Summer Matchplay ladder has been a great success with so many competitive matches played. As winter approaches a doubles ladder will be set up (after a pause) as well as the regular and successful Winter Singles League - details for follow...

The Winter Season will officially begin on the 28th of September. Dome block booking will begin and some courts will become chargeable. More details to follow...

The Wednesday evening social continues as a formal and organised session. Attendance has to be pre-booked with Janice (janice.coulthard@ntlworld.com) and from 30th September there will be a £3 charge per player.

As we mentioned earlier in the week, there are latest Government/LTA guidelines for members and the Club to follow:
For Track & Trace purposes ALL courts will have to be booked online where a playing partner has to be included within 24 hours, otherwise the booking may be cancelled.
If you aren't playing with anybody (i.e. practicing your serve) you can select "no opponent".
If you are playing with a Guest, the appropriate Guest Fee can be selected.
With the 'Rule of 6' indoors and outdoors, we are asking members to not socially gather in groups of more than 6 and to not carry out informal on-court sessions mixing in with groups of more than 6 (i.e. two courts of social doubles).

Best,
James
