ELTC August newsletter

Dear ELTC members,

I hope you are all enjoying your tennis through the summer months! Below are a few updates from the Club:

Summer Matchplay Challenge & Annual Club Tournament
The Summer Matchplay Challenge continues to provide a lot of competitive opportunities and the matches are coming in thick and fast. The ladders will run until 19th September.

The Annual Club Tournament has also been organised and is up and running. Thanks to the Tournament committee for putting this together with such speed. For any tournament related questions please email: eltcclubtournament@gmail.com

Please note that the first round for men’s singles and men’s doubles needs to be completed by 15th of August so please schedule your matches as early as possible. Those competing in the Singles Ladder will be asked to temporarily leave the ladder whilst they are in any Club Tournament event. Once they are knocked out, they can re-join the single ladder. Members can play in both the club tournament and doubles ladder but can still choose to temporarily leave the ladder in order to manage their timetable and matches better.

This year Finals Day will take place on Saturday 19th September and we will communicate closer to the time with how we can reasonably arrange the day.

August bank holiday tournament
Janice will be organising a mixed doubles tournament on Monday 31st August from 11:30 through the afternoon. More details to follow...

Wednesday evening mix-in
Janice also continues to run a well organised Wednesday mix-in from 18:30. This is currently only open to existing members who have to pre-book with Janice (janice.coulthard@ntlworld.com).

Bar
We held a successful trial shift last week and it was great to see some socially distanced activity at the outdoor pop-up bar! We will put some plans together for a phased return to opening...

Pilates
We are looking to introduce a Pilates session from September, to be held during the week in the daytime with a qualified Pilates and movement specialist. If you are interested please let me know with feedback on what day and time may be best.

Please note my new email address: clubmanager@ealingtennis.com

Best,
James
